Well it’s obvious low, so of course you tell the customer the vehicle needs an oil change. But running it so low to the point where the oil light is flickering on at idle could have damaged the bearings I’ve seen it many times while working for Acura usually the spool valve seal leaks. Always tell them if the oil light is continuing to flicker even after the engine is full of oil the bearings are worn to the point they are leaking internally. Being honest is the only way to operate your business !

When did all the mechanics & shops start charging a diagnostic fee? I remember you could take a car to a mechanic & he'd find out what the problem was for free. So now most garages & dealerships for sure charge both! Just think if one garage didn't charge the diagnostic fee, charge only for what work was done, betcha he'd get most if not all them customers.

ok my daughter's car be stalling sometimes when she's coming to a stop only. We paid 1500 for a valve body they had to do it 2x cause it kept happening after the 1st replacement now that they did it a 2nd time it's only stalled maybe 3 times over the last few months she keeps oil in it but it does seem to use it up fast. That valve body cost should've fixed the problem. I told the guy what was happening and he took it and that's what we were told he also drove it around for an hour and it never stalled on him he couldn't replicate the issue. At the beginning he said the cost of a rebuilt transmission was 2500 and they do it for way less but the valve body alone was half that I'm worried it's the torque converter clutch in which case they should've just rebuilt it for her to begin with instead of him starting at the easiest thing in a transmission. Just strange to me that the fix did help some because there's way less stalling. Maybe it's not the transmission at all. We paid 10k for her car in October and I'd like it to last atleast 5 years she's gone 25k miles sense October though she drives the wheels right off😳

You really hate us dealer techs 🤣🤣🤣 I just had a car low low on oil …… I left the ticket as added oil and I did not find a leak or signs of burning. Yes I left service suggestions for things that need to be done unrelated but damn not all dealerships are crooks 🤣🤣🤣🤣
