I had brain surgery 5yrs ago. They removed the whole back of my skull to cut a tumor out that was about half the size of a normal man's fist (only way I can think to describe it.) Thankfully it was non cancerous and my body placed a mucus like membrane around it, so it was unable to attach to my brain stem.

fun fact! back then before modern healthcare was a thing, "doctors" drill holes in patients heads who suffer from headaches to get rid of the pressure and "bad blood" which they believe was causing the headache. its called trepanation
