GUYS I’ve had birds and let me explain how Kerdly MAY be real. Okay so basically birds usually only lose feathers during periods of heavy molting, especially larger feathers like the one Kris is holding. During molting periods birds grow new feathers called pin feathers which need to be preened so the keratin shell breaks and the new feather is released. Sometimes the pin feathers can grow on hard to reach spots or they may just have a lot so birds, being the social creatures they are, usually have family or mates do it. Now you may be asking “but they could be just friends!” INCORRECT. I’ve had huge birds like Catalina Macaws and the rule when you want to pet a bird is NEVER pet the wings if it’s an adult for reasons you can search up by yourself 🥹. Friends only touch eachother’s heads in parrot society so the wings are only left for family or mates. That feather, judging by the size, looks like a wing feather… meaning if Kris has it berdly must consider them a MATE!!!! (Kerdly FOREVER.)
