These fish come from the East African Great Lakes, like Lake Victoria, and there are hundreds of species, each with its own striking look and temperament. ✨ Unlike some other aggressive African cichlids, many Haplochromis species are quite peaceful when kept with similarly sized tank mates. Males develop vibrant blues, reds, yellows, oranges, and metallic greens as they mature, while females are usually a bit more subdued with silver or brown colors.
