I mean this is a common Digimon that happens to do this type of thing. But it’s ironic that that Digimon did the same thing did you mind adventures 2020 but it’s a totally different universe but every universe is very similar. Adventure 2020 and E – pulse are different universe.

So from what we know all digital worlds are connected through homeostasis as the central hub. That how all series are connected and how we can have all these crossovers in both media and games. Its just what do the hosts allow or block

so there is a tie in anime short episodes that was released a year ago where they all meet again and actually explains that tri and the new movies happened in a different universe to make all endings and stories canon. they even have tie in to time strangers and frontier and data squad and wars. I believe they had the 2020 adventure meet the og adventure too
