@courtneywitucki: Yes I regret putting it in there. I was thinking of things that were going to work in the moment but not long term. Next step is turning on the timer. #militaryfamily #militaryspouse #toddlermom #momlife #motherhoodjourney
Girl just take the TV out of his room. You just gotta do it cold turkey.

Why can’t you lift the tv and physically take it out of the room.

He is old enough to understand NO- take the tv out and be done with it …. Give him a Tony box and let him listen to stories/music

I get why you are doing this but I dont agree with lying to our kids. We need to be honest with them and explain in ways they understand. It is hard but it teaches life skills they need and coping is one of them

So you let him watch the tv on certain hours. Why are you making this so difficult?

It's best to just take it away from the beginning. Put it away where he won't see it, or sell it. Eventually he will get use to it not being there and move on. Obviously explain why you're taking it away, but I never recommend putting a TV in any bedroom.

we use a galaxy projector night light and a sound machine set to a stream or water noise. I've heard white noise isn't good but idk if that's true or not

Have you tried like an audiobook or white noise for something a bit less stimulating? Big life changes are so hard for little ones. Good luck!

Just take it out and explain that it’s not good for his body and brain at night and replace bedtime with reading and telling stories. Even if he cries it will only be a few nights of work and he will be ok. You got this mom! He will be ok without it. Stay strong. Offer a few minutes of TV in the living room (20min) then go to the bedroom for reading time and relaxing time

Do you have Alexa? Have it shut off the TV at a certain time every night.

Lifetime TV sleeper here, it started as a bad habit when I had night terrors as a kid and never grew out of it. I recently transitioned to listening to an audiobook while I sleep and it’s SO MUCH BETTER. Maybe something like that could help your kiddo 🖤

As a mom who’s husband works out of town during the week I totally understand doing whatever makes life easier. You’ve got this! I also suggest telling him the TV went to bed and to tell it goodnight. We started doing this and it helped a lot.
