@maggieroseadvocate: A small randomized, double-blind study followed 15 women who used a cream containing 0.5% boswellic acids from a standardized Boswellia serrata (frankincense) resin extract on one side of their face and a placebo cream on the other for 30 days. And the results were pretty interesting: researchers found significant improvements in skin elasticity and fine lines, along with changes suggesting remodeling of the skin’s dermal tissue. One important distinction: they WEREN'T studying frankincense essential oil! The active ingredient was an extract derived from frankincense resin. This especially caught my attention because I’ve been using an oil infused with actual frankincense resin (not essential oil) as part of my natural skincare routine for years, and I’ve personally seen major benefits from it! Other reported benefits of frankincense resin include antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, smoother-looking skin, and helping with sebum balance and skin repair. 🤍 (Not derm advice, just cool plant science for the skin) #frankincense #frankincenseoil #naturalskincare #antiagingskincare #healthyaging
