I use Estee Lauder Double Wear and apply like you showed. By late afternoon, it has turned into a bunch of tiny pore circle dots and has separated. I only prep with sunscreen so I dont know what I am doing wrong.

im 47 and this is exactly how I apply my foundation! I do two pumps on the back of my hand and go in circles to even it out and warm it up. then I apply to face and push into face with brush and then lightly go over with damp sponge to push it more into skin and to soak up any extra foundation that the skin didn't absorb.
