Is your husband a neurointensivist? Has he worked extensively with trauma/neuro ICU patients? I ask because I am an ICU RN x 14 yrs with heavy trauma/neuro experience in a Level 1 Trauma hospital. I have NEVER witnessed this body temp (outside of a corpse).

I’m just gonna save everyone the time and energy. The answer is no it is not possible in the context of the Lindsay Clancy case for her core body temperature to be 82°. I’m a ICU nurse. This guy is taking way too long.

I’ve taken care of spinal cord injuries in a level 1 hospital for 14 years and have never seen a temperature that low. It’s usually fevers that we have to chase.

Idgaf what he says, no injury is going to cause a still living body to have less thermal regulation than a dead body. Dead bodies don’t even cool that fast. Professional perfusionists have already weighed in on this.

For those too lazy to watch the full video, yes he said it’s POSSIBLE given her injuries. Without injuries you would only lose a degree or two every hour. And the human body can do so much random stuff that you can’t really say definitely nothing is impossible

He literally answered the question. Her spinal cord was severed. therefore her body was working overtime to keep the important things alive since she was losing blood her CORE body temp was dropping not necessarily because it was so cold outside. her body went into to fight or flight to continue keeping her alive.. hence the shivering comment.
