GOT7 is one of the groups under JYP that likes to incorporate R&B, even when the members have gone solo (JayB, Yugyeom & Jackson) ☺️💚✨

Lee Soo Man (despite his evil deeds) has also been very upfront about it as well. SM Town and the trainee system was heavily inspired by Motown, combined with the Japanese trainee system.

He has never hidden it. The building is full of references to these artists and he has mentioned it before about them being his inspiration

My Korean mom remembers the moment she started liking JYP. She first thought he was an ugly ass dude ripping off Michael Jackson. Then she saw a tv interview where he gushes about MJ as a huge influence and that he tries to pay tribute to him. From then on, she thought he was pretty cool.

Love Love LOVE J.Y. Park! A lot of people highly dislike him and thinks that he rips off black artists but he’s always given credit to where his influences came from and even has a song that he wrote and produced (and put out himself originally) that was given to a black boy group called portrait back in the 90’s… this is why I have a deep respect for him as an artist and producer and I wish others would see it too.

"Nobody" was my song back in the day! Before I knew about fandoms, parasocial relationships, etc. Just me, YouTube, and burning my CDs.

Yes when the girlset gals said they wanted to venture into R&B I know JYP was positively giddy with excitement and pulled SWV Weak for them to sample.

As long as I’ve followed kpop (2011) JYP has NEVER been silent about the Black American influence in the Kpop industry, he ain’t perfect but he’ll never let not mention the influence of Black Music.

And people still wonder why Koreans genuinely like JYP. He doesn't just have producing talent but he is one of the REALEST.
