it is stupid, but her approach was passive aggressive and it there's a way to go about things. if you want to correct someone, you do it lovingly as the bible instructs. i hate that people are so focused on "clocking" others and being right rather than having the intention to bring them closer to Jesus. the word chic was taken way too literally and completely missing the heart of the trend. tiktok trends don't always use actual dictionary definitions; look at how people say you ate that when obviously nobody is chewing on food, or how they say it's good to be delulu when they aren't talking about a serious psychiatric symptom, but rather having high hopes despite the odds. in most trends, the literal definition dies and it just becomes a vibe. the same goes for the its kind of chic trend. people are having fun and are putting their twist on a trend, and there's nothing wrong with that. the end.
