As a transmission rebuilder that’s been doing this my whole life (I’m 22) Never have I ever seen a transmission parking brake arm break, and I have rebuilt hundreds of transmissions over the years. Using your parking brake is recommended so it doesn’t seize up and break over time. it is not necessary to use it in an automatic all the time. It is good to use it every once in a while so, you don’t have to spend more money, fixing it when it breaks

Dude, this is like ancient knowledge. Cars 2010+ don’t have this issue. Tens of Millions of people don’t use their e brake and they’re fine.

Mmmm even that example was wrong. Release your foot and let the handbrake take all of the weight then set it into park

Just put it in park and DONT let go of the brake right away let go of it gentle until the car stops rolling cars and automatic transmission is designed to use the par not the hand brake
