someone said we should go back to hand writing essays and I believe that's a great idea... but what's stopping the kids from feeding the prompt into AI and hand writing what AI tells them?

I’m about to go back to college for the first time since before Covid and I’m worried about my actual work being accused of AI because I use En and Em dashes and semi-colons properly. How often do non-AI assignments get flagged for that stuff?

English-Psych major here, I have a skin on canvas so I can see every time my professors do that haha. I’ve always wondered how many people they catch. I’ve never been flagged for ai (likely because I don’t use it) but I am sooo curious

I'm not sure if this is what they're talking about, but I assume that they're a teacher and the thing they're hiding is for the student when they just copy and paste the whole text to give to AI to summarize, so that their report or whatever, will include the word "Elephant" and the teacher will instantly know they used AI.

What if someone uses screenshots to do this assignment since they’re viewing the doc on mobile? It would still be ai because the ai wouldn’t be able to read the white text through a screenshot, unfortunately this does not work
