It’s really no different than it was in 2013. The best console cost around $300, a 1080p TV cost at least $300, and GTA V was $60. Add that up with tax, and you were spending roughly $700 total. Adjusted for inflation, that’s $1,000 today. The only thing that’s really changed is your standards.

I got a PS5 Slim for 460$ last year and a 2k 27" monitor for 300$. Yea, not solely for GTAVI, but I'm not gonna buy anything else because of it (except the game itself of course). I really don't feel that need to go all out just because of one game. At the end of the day, no matter what I buy, I won't be able to run the game at more than 30FPS (at least on launch) and I to me upgrade from 2k to 4k is not that necessary. Also I think PS5 Pro is just absolutely not worth it considering the price, same with Dualsense Edge. And I think the Ultimate edition bonuses will make up just a very small percentage of the game, so not really worth it either, although that is the single aspect where I understand going all out
