Y’all genuinely switch up so fast, you were saying how much you wanted to see Rhaenyra the Cruel to come to life within the show. Yet, you guys couldn’t even handle the fact she wanted to make sure her sister stayed alive and wasn’t going to die from starvation. Literally what other choice was she left with, she forced her hand. She’s been more than patient and considering how much she had lost, her two sons, soon Joffrey and alongside Daemon in the battle of the god’s eye.

I believe helaena knows her childrens death, maegor being taken after birth and possibly be torn by strangers, jeheara mirroring hers... so she ultimately chose to die earlier, than live and loose the last child she could possibly protect from being taken of her. it's her desperate claim of ownership, a mother sealing her final child within the safety of her own eternity, ensuring no king, no war, and no crown could ever tear it from her arms again.
