A companion named Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah asked the Prophet ﷺ: "O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?" The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Yes." Sa'd asked: "Which charity is best?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "Providing water [and food]." (Sunan an-Nasa'i)

It’s not a party , ppl gather to pray for the dead person ! And serve food as a gesture of attendance. They gather ppl to make dua 4 the dead so Allah give the dead blessings and forgiveness .

Please can you show in Quraan and Hadith were it says must go out 3 days 10days 40days 3 months leaving ones wife and children for preach to Muslims who know what their duties are in Islam. You need to do research.
