Health insurance. Vet bills. Travel. Scuba. Flying lessons. Time off. Freedom to choose work I actually want. The ability to help people I care about. That’s what I value. Security. Freedom. Experiences. Optionality. Sure, I own clothes, a car, some dive gear, bikes, and surfboards. But I’m not trying to fill my life with possessions. I want money because it gives me more control over how I spend my time and who I spend it with. For most people, I think more money would improve their life far more through freedom than through buying nicer things.
