@greengirlsoph: The green dot test is hands-down one of my absolute favorite ways to inspect a Magic card! It all comes back to how they separated colors on the original printing films. In fact, Wizards has been using the exact same back-of-card files all the way since Alpha! You'll see tons of color variations due to different saturation levels, but that underlying pattern never changes. So, what are we actually looking for? It’s super simple: a solid green circle with four little red dots tucked inside in an 'L' shape.
