my dad died in front of me from addiction back in 2023 the day after my eleventh birthday. before he hit that floor, I was talking to him about what we'll do for my birthday and father's day. he died the day after my birthday and the day before father's day. he didn't see me get into middleschool and now I'm in highschool and still wishing he got to see me grow up.

He passed this April. He never got to see my graduate high school, he didn’t get to move me into my dorm, he’ll miss all my future graduations, my wedding, and the rest of my big moments. I’m not as upset that I’ll miss him in those moments as I am about the little ones. No more watching movies with him, no more having him cheer me on at my hockey games, no more playing video games with him, no more talking about comic books, no more daddy daughter dinner dates, no more kisses on his forehead. I miss it, I miss him
