But this isn’t about one title being better than another. It’s about using the title you’ve earned. ✨ Beauty Therapist Diploma of Beauty Therapy | 12 months ✅ Specialises in makeup, waxing, nails, facials, massage, aromatherapy, spray tans, tinting, lifting and more. ✨ Dermal Therapist Advanced Diploma of Dermal Therapy | 12 months ✅ Specialises in Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), laser hair reduction, skin needling, superficial peels, and LED light therapies. ✨ Dermal Clinician Bachelor of Dermal Sciences / relevant recognised bachelor qualification | up to 4 years ✅ Medical based management of chronic skin diseases like psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, and severe acne. They understand how internal body systems, nutrition, and medications impact these diseases. Formal training in dermoscopy, wound care, lymphatics, laser etc. Different qualifications. Different scopes. Different roles. All qualified. All important. All needed. ❤️ There is space for every one of us in this industry, and recognising our individual education and scope doesn’t diminish anybody else’s!! It strengthens the profession as a whole. So when you complete your Census, don’t minimise what you do. Use your title. Be counted. 🤍 And in the ASDC’s 25th anniversary year, that feels particularly significant.
