Seeing how many people he makes smile, laugh and feel a little bit better has meant more to me than you probably realize. 🤍 But there’s also a side of sharing him that hurts. Being called an animal abuser. Being told I shouldn’t be allowed to own animals. Being told that I don’t care about them. Those words might be “just comments” to you. But they aren’t just comments to me. There is a real person reading them. A person who loves her animals with her whole heart. A person who worries about them, takes care of them, protects them and would never knowingly force them to do something they don’t want to do. You see a few seconds of Kevin on TikTok. You don’t see the rest of his life. You don’t see the bond we have. You don’t see how much I love him. You don’t see everything I do for him and my other animals when the camera is turned off. And honestly… it hurts to have my love for them questioned by people who don’t know me. I’m not asking everyone to agree with me. I’m not asking you to love every video I post. I’m just asking you to remember that there is a human being on the other side of the screen. Words can stay with someone long after you’ve forgotten that you even wrote them.
