No genuinely I hated In Ascension. The first two acts are amazing but the book reads like the published demanded the author turn in what they had before they got to writing the third act because it just cuts off and abruptly scrapes together an ending that barely relates to the first two acts at all. It's just pasted on the end so the book has AN ending. Genuinely one of the most disappointing books I've read in years like seriously I can not describe without major spoilers how utterly abruptly and disjointed the final act is. It connects to the rest of the book in basically no way, exists for no reason, and gives a one sentence finale at the end to service the idea that what happened in the first two acts happened at all

Rosewater was so weird and so written by a man. I did not need to hear about the main character getting off constantly. And I hate that we just glaze over the pedophilia in station eleven.
