When I was at the temple of Hephaestus… a cat sat on my legs, on the bench, right below the temple. And for 10 minutes, it was the cat and I, looking at the acropolis..

whenever i see these, i imagine they are the gods and goddesses in disguise coming to enjoy the company of visitors from all around the world. hephaestus is probably enjoying the company and connecting with his visitors in ways that he can 💜

When I was on the Acropolis, with a friend, we asked the cat there if it was Athena and the cat NODDED! I have never met a deity before but I knew I met a goddess in her city.

Apparently there’s no real Greek God of cats (except sort of Artemis through her connection to the Egyptian goddess Bastet) but the Roman goddess associated with them is Libertas (goddess of freedom and independence) 🥹 if you know otherwise please tell us!!
