@itstonyadawn: There seems to be A LOT of misinformation going around about this trial, so I wanted to post the judge’s own words from opening day explaining exactly what the jury’s job is. I keep seeing people say, “She already admitted she did it,” “She’s already guilty,” or “This trial is only about whether she was insane.” That is NOT how this trial works. She enters this trial presumed innocent. The prosecution still has the burden of proving the charges against her beyond a reasonable doubt, and the jury must determine whether the Commonwealth has actually met that burden based on the evidence presented in court. This clip isn’t my interpretation or anyone’s TikTok theory, it’s the JUDGE explaining directly to the jurors what they are being asked to decide. You can believe she’s guilty. You can believe she’s not guilty. You can have whatever theory you want about this case. But saying she is already legally guilty and they’re simply having a trial to determine insanity misrepresents what is actually happening in that courtroom. Listen to the judge.
