This is super sweet but be careful with this. If she has coworkers or supervisors that aren’t nice, she could lose her job over accepting a gift like this. Just don’t do anything more publicly about it if you can get them!

You can receive gifts as a nurse. Multiple patients have given gifts to a lot of our staff and we were able to accept it. I would approach the manager of the unit and ask if you can give this nurse a gift and a card for all the help and great work she has done. And normally they will let you. You just can’t typically give cash money. But gifts, yes you can.

my recommendation is to maybe get her email or try friend requesting her on FB after your child has been discharged. many of us peds nurses keep in touch with our kids families but we usually won’t until they are discharged and out of our care so there’s no worries about legal stuff
