If I were you based on everything you’ve gone through as a couple, the lack of support, the habits your husband recently quit, plus his struggle to fully partner up with you and prioritize you over his family, the road ahead for him with grief work etc. There’s so much external and internal pressure on you as a couple and a licensed therapist will be able to help you navigate, learn tools, gain bettering coping mechanisms, help teach what healthy boundaries look like etc. Just my two cents. 💛 Also I know you know this, but I’d never ever be alone in a room again with my father-in-law no matter what.
