Thank you. I do this and did this to my avoidant ex. My dad did this to me and it made me feel crummy so I should have known better. Appreciate you and I think it is a great lesson in not over functioning in conversation. My brain’s baby steps towards this is trying to create more of a connection to noticing feelings in me and whom i speaking to

This is true. The hard part, or unfortunate reality is, people only lead with that if and when they have learned that bringing things up to them leads to a certain reaction. They’ve been conditioned to lead with that through experience. So it’s like, what do you even do? They created the environment that now needs communication to be primed with warnings. But if you tell them that, it’s criticism or an attack lol. You’re basically fucked once communication reaches that point in the relationship. Can’t be direct, can’t prime, shit…..😂💀

tbh at this point of learning how to deal with an avoidant partner for quite a while now i have my own conclusion which is "i could not do anything with them" 😔
