@powers_plants: After a rain storm, you should walk around your property as soon as you can when the rain stops. You want to check for standing water or puddles of water. It’s OK to have some puddling, but you want the puddles to be 8 to 10 feet away from your house. And you go back and check 24 hours later in that water should dissipate. We don’t want water standing on our properties for more than 24 to 48 hours. Also observing where you have wet areas in your yard is going to help you make better plant decisions since many plants like water and many plants do not.
