I complain about the fact that so many anti-drug ads aren't serious enough, but when I was looking for new ads to talk about, and the last ad in this video popped up, it was a bit too serious even for me. it truly upset me. and that's what ads about drug addiction should do. they need to show the true horrors. not pigs smoking cigarettes. not cute babies holding comically large syringes. and definitely not,

(seriously. there is a serious ad campaign that seriously says that along with more serious things like "you + drugs = we don't ship" and "the only fenty we like is the beauty brand by rhianna." s e r i o u s l y . 😑) EDIT: a looooot of you have pointed out that meth is actually a pretty popular drug for hooking up, especially among the LGBT+ community, and now I feel stupid for not realizing that's what the ad was talking about. 😭 when I saw the ad, I immediately thought about frat dudes who are like, "bro, if you get drunk it'll be easier to hook up." I was a heroin user, and I didn't know many meth users until I was homeless and not doing well at all. by that point, anyone I knew was far beyond the point of caring about hooking up with anyone. 😅 so when I think "meth user" I think of them, but I need to remember that not all meth (or heroin) users are the homeless, miserable, perpetually spun out ones that I knew. 😭 #addiction #sober #recovery #MentalHealth #fyp
