@cbsatlanta: Taylor Farms is recalling several prepared foods made with jalapeño amid a salmonella outbreak linked to the peppers. The products, including pico de gallo, salsa and guacamole, were distributed to retailers including Walmart and Target in 26 states. The recall came after Coast Citrus Distributors recalled its fresh jalapeños, which were supplied by a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, identified as a potential source of the outbreak. Taylor Farms said it is no longer sourcing from the farmer and isn't aware of any reported illnesses linked to its products. Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps within 8 to 72 hours after exposure. The recalled products have "best if used by" dates through Aug. 16 and were sold at Hannaford, Stop & Shop, Kroger, Target, Trader Joe's, Walmart and Whole Foods. They include various prepared foods, dips, salsas, guacamole and salads sold across multiple states. Customers who have the recalled products should discontinue use.
