After traveling around Nigeria for 3 weeks, my personal experience has been completely different from the image that was imprinted in my mind by international media. Everywhere I go, people greet me with smiles, help me out and make me feel welcome. And with English spoken everywhere, I’ve actually found Nigeria one of the easiest countries to travel around in West Africa. But that doesn’t mean you should be ignorant to the problems in a country and be too naive. Wherever I travel, having mobile data is one of those things that makes me feel much more comfortable and safe. I can always check where I am, use Google Maps, stay connected and order an Uber when I need one.
