@two_scoops411: This is how the strong 7.4 magnitude earthquake was experienced in Colombia Location: The earthquake struck at approximately 7:34 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located near San José del Palmar in the western Chocó department, roughly 250 miles (400 kilometers) west of Bogotá. Depth: Seismological agencies, including the USGS and EMSC, measured the quake at a relatively deep intermediate level (roughly 66 to 71 miles / 107 to 115 kilometers deep), which allowed the energy to travel vast distances. Widespread Reach: Strong tremors were felt far from the epicenter. Residents in the capital city of Bogotá, as well as across Antioquia, Cundinamarca, and Meta, rushed out into the streets as homes and office buildings evacuated. The shaking was also heavily felt across international borders into neighboring Ecuador and parts toward Venezuela
