She has a point though. She just did not execute it properly. What she meant is that… People like to be in control. A lot of men don’t like women who are rich or in their tax bracket because it would be difficult to control her. But for someone who has nothing it would be easy to manipulate them considering they have nothing. Think about how our mothers who don’t have money or careers are at the mercy of their husband because of they don’t have the means to leave. He said that him choosing a woman with a lesser status shows that he loves her. She is saying that, him choosing the woman does not necessarily mean that he loves, but because it makes it easier to control her.
