Have your doctor write your script to replace it every 2 days so you have a few extra each month in case one fails or falls off or there is a delay. It shouldn’t change the price of your script.

Mail order, “replacement pods” ( sweat, fell off), prescription use every 2 days. Stock up every month with extra!

I use a local mom and pop pharmacy that is really good! They always have it and it’s always ready within the day of me ordering!

Have your Endocrinologist or whoever prescribes them to change your prescription to change the Pod every 2 days instead of 3 days.

Check with your insurance and see if they cover ordering from Express Scripts. I’ve never had a lapse in getting my pods from them. It’s a home delivery pharmacy, you get a 90 day supply, and more times than not IT’S CHEAPER than getting from a local pharmacy.

Your Endo needs to write your script for extra changes so you have a backstock. As T1D’s it absolutely sucks we have to ration/hoard supplies in order just to survive! So many shortages of supplies these days (not always TRUE shortages).

Stop using Walgreens or CVS or any other big chains for your diabetic supplies. Switching to a community pharmacy was the BEST decision I've ever made! an issues with insurance? they calling me to tell me its been handled- yet I never knew about it. I need a prior auth? no worries the pharmacy called it for me 😭 I get all my husbands inhalers and epi pens from there too. I'm about to have my kids vyvanse called over there as well 90% of the time my daughters meds are not in stock and it will take a week to actually get her medication.

Pharmacist for Kroger - I keep a stock 🤷🏻‍♀️this is a store specific issue. They need to change their order points.

Not that this was an answer to your question but might help.. how do you have your prescription written? Mine is written for changing my pod every 2 days rather than 3, and that’s helped me build a stockpile to bypass this issue.

We go though this with INSULIN! Yes, insulin. They never have enough in stock, have to order, wait for arrival. Longest wait was 10 days. I have to buy OTC R insulin from WalMart to hold him over often

I work at a pharmacy and we wait to order it, because it’s so expensive, but they almost always come in the next day. I’m not sure what the hold up would be????

Can you try another pharmacy near you? Or is it the same problem regardless? Try Amazon pharmacy? I’d also ask the pharmacy manager if they are able to keep it in stock.

Every single time with Walgreens, it happens with my dexcoms too. Have your Endo change your prescription to change every 2 days so you get extra.

Our pharmacy in a little town in ND always has our diabetes stuff on hand (dexcom, novlog, omnipod), i never call ahead i just go there and tell them what i need. Every now and then they might run out of insulin but usually they can get more by the next day

There’s a well known Dexcom G7 shortage, this is a manufacturer/supply chain issue. Talk to your PCP or Endocrinologist to see if they can switch you to a different CGM that is compatible with your pump.
