@matt_alexander_martin: Hey ya’ll… I’m an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail caterpillar (Papilio glaucus), famous for my large, cartoonish false eye-spots on on my swollen thorax that mimic a snake to scare off predators. My Defense Mechanism is The large "eyes" change colors spending most of my life a bright, leaf-green color to blend into foliage, then I can turn this distinct brownish-burgundy color right before I pupate (turn into a chrysalis). My Hidden Chemical Weapon is If I feel highly threatened, I can shoot out a bright orange, Y-shaped organ called an osmeterium from behind my head. This organ releases a foul-smelling chemical cocktail to repel ants and spiders. Please don’t kill me!!
