Sure, Mikayla’s accent is fake. She’s said as much. However having an accent others can’t mimic doesn’t make it fake. I have an accent. Not even my children can mimic it. That doesn’t make it fake. It only means my language muscle memory doesn’t shut off when using any one of the many languages I speak. It’s most noticeable when using American English.

You’re confusing regional accent (which is largely the way vowel sounds are produced) with vocal pitch when you refer to sounding like a smoker. She does have a naturally low-pitched voice. Chronic smokers will sometimes develop something called Reinke’s edema which causes the vocal folds to retain fluid and makes the pitch drop. But the pitch of someone’s voice has nothing to do with a regional accent. Her exaggerated Boston accent could easily be imitated by anyone with a good ear or training. Imitating her low pitched voice is also possible. But they are separate things. I don’t know if she is “faking”or if she learned to code switch to lessen her accent for certain situations (many people with strong regional accents learn to do that for professional roles or broadcasting). But pointing to her low pitched voice is not proof that she is faking her accent.

No. Just fucking no. She's NOT from Boston. She's from some nowhere town on the South Coast (different from the South Shore). Says me, a native born and raised Bostonian. ALSO!!! There's no such fucking thing AS a "Boston accent". Bostonians speak English in a Boston dialect, with the vernacular and ACCENT coming from their particular Boston neighborhood (Southie, Eastie, Dorchester, Charlestown, Roxbury, et c.). Which is WHYYYYY no one, absolutely NO ONE can mimick a Boston accent, Jesus fuck!
