Me, I’m actually one of the people that always say life is not Nollywood because, honestly, Nollywood has done more harm than good to us in some ways. But some people have misunderstood that statement to mean that because life is not Nollywood, consequences don’t exist or certain things don’t happen in real life. When I made my video, I was very specific. I said MEN THAT ARE NEVER SATISFIED. I did not say men who had normal marital problems, men who fell out of love, men who had issues in their marriage and decided to separate, or men who got divorced and eventually found someone else. Those are completely different situations. I’m talking about a man who can deliberately demean a woman, emotionally destroy her, abuse her, cheat on her, make her miserable, discard her and move on to another woman simply because he thinks the next woman will make him happier. Because if your problem is your character, changing the woman beside you does not change you. There is a HUGE difference between a man who had a failed relationship and a man who has a pattern of being wicked to women because he is constantly looking for something else. And some of you really need to stop romanticising this kind of behaviour. A few Nigerian women have normalised rubbish so much that when they see a man destroying one woman to be with another, they start celebrating themselves as the “chosen one.” Until life teaches them that they were never the exception. I’m not saying every second marriage will fail. I’m saying you cannot use a new woman to cure a man who has a character problem. And if you think I’m lying, look at some of the popular people who have had situations like this play out publicly. Look at how quickly things changed after the new relationship or marriage. Some of these things didn’t even take 10 years to show themselves. Within a year or two, you’re seeing another version of the same story. That should tell you something. So please, understand the argument before shouting “life is not Nollywood.” 😂 Nobody said life is a movie. I’m saying real life has patterns too. People have character. People have habits. People have consequences. What goes around comes around. Som
