well of course they do. those other games that you mentioned are usually percieved as "men's" games, the ones with a lot of violence and hard battles and muted colors and dark screens. of course that doesn't _actually_ mean anything about their coolness or validity - and it doesn't even actually mean that only men play them or they are the only games men ever play, but yknow. the gender stereotypes. the patriarchy, the misogyny. genshin is brightly colored and it has some feelgood stories (even though many genshin stories are quite dark, not that it makes it a better or worse game), and in general it's more of a "power of friendship" game than a "power of incredible violence" game, which makes it a game for women, which makes it cringey and not a real video game (all video games are not, uh, real, they're pixels on a screen, but also they all exsist to be played by any people who would find them fun, so.)
I've seen this happen with many games before, the exact same situation of "real gamers" being dismissive or disappointed when you happen to be into "girls'" games, sometimes they say it outright, and sometimes (more often lately) they even skip and forget the "girl" part and go straight to being dismissive and disappointed, but when you ask them what exactly is wrong with the game you picked, they can't really explain, just saying it's cringe or something shameful or yknow. whatever people with unreflected misogyny usually say about "girls' " hobbies.
yeah but genshin players who give others hell for not being up to date with every single thing are a real problem also and that one I can't quite explain
