@techinherstep: Replying to @OwlWisdom P2-Where should you store your digital estate inventory list? All the logins, subscriptions, digital assets you own, photos, etc. my first assumption was to store everything in my password manager. And while that’s where I’m keeping my encrypted master copy, I learned pretty quickly that relying on one location creates another problem: what happens if your family can’t access it when they need it? In Episode 2 of The Digital Life You Leave Behind; The Safest Place for Your Digital Life, I’m sharing the 3 step system I’m setting up for my own digital estate: 1.An encrypted digital inventory I can keep updated. 2.A secure offline recovery path. 3.And a trusted person who knows where the plan exists and how to begin. Because digital estate planning isn’t just about protecting passwords. It’s about making sure the right person can find and access your important online accounts, digital assets, photos, documents and recovery information after you’re gone. If you use a password manager like 1Password, Bitwarden, Apple Passwords or another service, make sure you also understand its emergency access or account recovery process. #digitalestate #digitalassets #estateplanning #digitalestateplanning #digitallegacy

Thankfully I had most of my logins in a pw-protected excel ss and was able to import that into my pw manager. It’s rare to find an account that I don’t already have vaulted! 😮‍💨

So smart! I did my list last year after my sister’s hubs suddenly passed and she went through the wringer trying to get into his phone & accounts. My hubs wouldn’t even know how to pay bills, now everything is there along with the password manager. So glad you are bringing this to people’s attention!

I just signed up for Keeper. Is that good? Or is it just what works for you as an individual. I have my sister as a joint account holder on my checking account and her face on phone and she has my password.

I’ve moved all of this in my Mac now. My mom and sister are fingerprinted for access to Passwords and two shared notes. Mac is backed up to the cloud, usb hd and another drive for redundancy at my mom’s place which gets updated weekly. I love this system

I've been using dashlane for a couple years now but I think I'm going to switch to proton. both seem pretty good as I've been using proton for the last few months and it resembles almost exactly like dashlane. the reason for the switch cost proton is about half the cost so why not switch and save a few bucks
