@erin_p_15: 🤫 The “NO SECRET” Secret Family Recipe😉 No-Bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies The cookie recipe my family probably won’t forgive me for sharing! 😂 🛒 Ingredients * 3 cups old-fashioned oats * 1 stick (½ cup) butter * 2 cups granulated sugar * ½ cup Vitamin D milk * ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon Hershey’s cocoa powder * ¾ cup Jif peanut butter * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 👩🍳 Directions 1. Measure first! Before you start, have ALL of your ingredients measured and ready to go. Once this gets cooking, things move quickly! 2. Start the chocolate mixture. Place a skillet or saucepan over low-medium heat. Add the butter, sugar, and milk. Once the butter has melted, give everything a quick stir. 3. Bring it to a rolling boil. Increase the heat and allow the mixture to come to a full rolling boil. Once it reaches a rolling boil, set a timer for exactly 3 minutes. ⏱️ 4. Remove from heat. After 3 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and immediately stir in the vanilla. 5. Add the cocoa. Add the Hershey’s cocoa powder and mix well until the cocoa is completely dissolved and incorporated. 6. Add the peanut butter. Stir in the peanut butter and continue mixing until it has completely melted into the chocolate mixture. 7. Add the oats. Immediately add the old-fashioned rolled oats and stir until all of the oats are thoroughly coated. 8. Drop the cookies. Working quickly, drop the mixture by spoonfuls onto a parchment-lined countertop or baking sheet. 9. Let them set. Allow the cookies to cool and set completely. ✨ You’ll know they’re ready when they peel easily away from the parchment paper. ❤️ Family Recipe Secret The 3-minute boil is KEY! Too little time and your cookies may not set properly. Too long and they can turn out dry and crumbly. And now you know the secret…don’t tell my family! 😉 #recipes #cookie #cookies #familyrecipe #yummy

Interestingly, I will only use evaporated milk! I find they get grainy if I use regular milk…..

I’m 70 years old and have been using this exact recipe since I was in high school, not your family recipe at all. If you want to bump it up, use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy peanut butter.

I'm 65, and my elementary school served these and the elderly cook, reduced the recipe to family sized, and eat them still. Walmart even makes them & sells them in their bakery.
