The method that has worked for me seamlessly: don’t offer don’t refuse. I never felt a “hormonal drop” and we never had any issues. Down to 2x a day.

We are quite literally in the EXACT same boat. 14 month old daughter. Still waiting to get a cycle back again to try for baby #2 but also not ready to just cut her off. I love our time together while she’s nursing 😭

How many feeds are you doing now? I cut 1 feed/week starting with the daytime feeds as they were the easiest to get rid of.

Just weaned my 15 month old. Everyone told me to stop cold turkey but that just didn’t work for us. I started with night weaning first it was rough at first but within 2 weeks she wasn’t waking up for it anymore (we do cosleep for most of the night). After she was over the night feeds, I started removing day time feeds little by little. It took us about 3-4 weeks to fully wean. Whenever she would ask for it, I would redirect to an activity she loves, that really helped. Good luck! 🩷

I just started night weaning my 13 month old and she’s been doing so well! We’re down to 1 feeding a night. You’re valid in all of your feelings! You’re not alone! I’m gonna have a breakdown over here too😅

I had to night wean first and just stick to it. My husband and I tag teamed and I offered my baby sips of water instead of nursing and eventually he stopped waking up for it and is now sleeping through the night. I had to do this before starting my day time weaning! And the day weaning has been so easy for my baby to understand and I can’t help but wonder if that is because we started with night.

Would you consider trying night weaning first? My little guy is about the same age and i started to get my cycle back at 12 months when we night weaned!

They sell necklaces that can use your breastmilk to include in the pendant. I think it’ll be something sweet to look back on your journey.

Having similar thoughts girl.🥲 My baby girl just turned one and we’re feeling ready to start trying for another baby but I’m also not ready to stop nursing. I think I’m coming to the decision to see if I get pregnant without changing things and I’ll continue to nurse unless my supply dries up. Breastfeeding is so much easier now than at the beginning, we had so many struggles that she didn’t latch till she was 3 months 🙂 whatever you choose is right for you and your baby 🩷

I just hit my 12 months of breast feeding milestone on Friday and I just wanted to let you know that I found you when I was pregnant and all your videos on bf really helped me. I feel similarly and set small milestones that have come/gone and I really made it seem like 12 months would be it but now idk. Will be looking forward to your tips and tricks 💕

This is exactly how I feel at almost 14 months pp. I want to continue but haven’t gotten my period back at all, but I can’t imagine actually weaning her so we are just waiting

I just nursed my baby for the final time a week ago today. I cried so much about it. Just a week later I am feeling so much better about it and am so glad I made the choice 🤍

You’re not quitting! You’re just adapting to your baby’s needs 💕 you’re a great mom and it is AMAZING that you’ve come this far. The sacrifices you’ve made to BF are truly admirable

I had my husband handle any nighttime wake ups for a few weeks because that was the hardest for me to handle emotionally when I stopped.

I started weaning 1 feed every week. Started with the after nap feeds which seemed to be easy for her. I would just offer her a small snack + water after the nap instead. Then dropped before 1st nap, then the one before her second nap, then the morning wake up feed, last was the before bed feed. She truly did amazing with this schedule. Dad just put her down for the night and she handled it very well!!!

She'll sleep through the night once she weans! It's so emotional tho I get it, I shed lots of tears when I weaned my son 😔 but it is so nice to get your nights back!
