we did have this in Sweden too with the tv license fee. but now they put a small amount of the income tax for it instead of having tp chase people that have tv to pay the tv license.

Governments have ridiculous ideas when it comes to finding ways to get money out of it's citizens. Some tax are understandable, but the majority is just nonsense.
