I’d argue that even with the way Alya said the things she did, it was coming from a place of compassion. She knew the secret was destroying Marinette, and she knew that Marinette wouldn’t have an issue harming herself if it meant others could be happy. Alya did what she could to figure it out so she could help Marinette. Even after their argument, Alya still says she’ll help Marinette and Ladybug; she’ll act as a stand in still, and she’ll keep the secret. The lying goes against Alya’s morals, but she still chooses to help Marinette regardless. Fortunately, the harsh delivery of Alya’s statements will help Marinette. They seem cruel, but it makes it where Marinette has to think about what she wants now. Not what she thinks Adrien needs, or what she thinks aligns with the promise made to Gabriel.

Marinette wasn't protecting anyone. She was just trying to protect herself. And in the end, her own life got ruined because of it. Marinette has only herself to blame for all of this, and now Alya is backing her friend into a corner with no other options: either tell Adrien the truth or risk losing everything just to soothe her feelings. All Alya did was hold Marinette accountable for Marinette being selfish. Six seasons of this bullcrap, and Marinette has not once changed. If she wants to set things right, then she should have just told Adrien the truth about Monarch and Gabriel Agreste from the beginning. Hopefully Season 7 will do her character justice.

Defending Marinette to these comments, that lie isn't JUST Marinette's doing. It started with Gabriel telling her to keep his identity a secret from Adrien, and she could've made a better choice but she also went through a horrific series of events in the span of just a few days which included watching two people DIE, she obviously wasn't going to make a rational decision. But also, shortly after she feels she needs to tell Adrien the truth even if it's painful for him, and Natalie literally tells her she can't!! that it's "too late to back out now". She is literally being pressured into keeping this secret, she is a severely traumatized 14 year old, basically child soldier, that is being failed by the adults around her. And it's not like shes the only one who know because Kagami, Felix, Natalie, (Tomoe and Amelie too but they're different) ALL know and they aren't telling Adrien either. Adrien does deserve to know, and Alya has a right to be angry, and I can't say much on this episode because I haven't watched it but the way everyones acting like Marinette is some evil person that did it purely because she could is wild.. Shes a victim too, a victim that has been made to believe she can't back out of this anymore..

Yeah, like I truly am really mad at Alya for the fact that she watches her best friend have a mental breakdown about all of these stressful things and then continues to pile on with it the entire time they’re trying to figure out who the butterfly holder is and get the miraculous back 😭 she’s every single right to be mad at Marinette, even though she wouldn’t have known about the secret if she didn’t went and dug for it, but regardless her finding out that Marinette was lying and has been lying to everyone, especially her boyfriend about who his dad was is definitely OK. She’s allowed to be upset with that, but she’s not allowed to be so mean to her best friend when she’s obviously at the absolute lowest point in her life and did not want Ollie to know this because she knows that Ollie hates lying and would not like that. She’s keeping the secret or that she would have to keep the secret with her.

they are both valid. alya is valid only because she doesnt know what marinette saw. she doesnt know about Adrian's mum's corpse in Gabriel's secret basement, or that he has a secret basement or that Gabriel manipulated marinette into lying by using her love for adrian against her

alya giving marinette the opportunity to own up to her actions and do the right thing is one of the most compassionate things she can do in this situation. yall want her to keep coddling marinette but she’s also only a child and marinette has used her like a pawn and lied to her face 😭

I like to believe Alya just wanted the truth so she could help Marinette, she’s aware of the burden, she just wants to help Marinette with the load of it all. She could’ve done a better job at confronting her with what she found out, but Alya was also hurt, cause she believed there were no more lies between them after Marinette revealed her identity and made Alya her closest confidant. Marinette was valid on keeping the truth too, cause a secret of that magnitude has devastating consequences outside of just her Alya and Adrien, she knows she doesn’t have to hold everything alone, but she can’t help it cause that’s what’s been drilled into her bcuz of what happened with Master Fu, and later with Gabriel and Natalie, she was given a responsibility she’s still learning to grapple with
