@roxannesreality: If you missed Monday morning in the Lindsay Clancy trial, the cross-examination of psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Tufts was one of the more revealing portions of testimony so far. Tufts testified that she had only recently begun practicing independently when Lindsay became her patient, had treated no postpartum-psychosis patients during her first month of independent practice and perhaps only a couple of patients with postpartum depression. She also testified that all of her appointments with Lindsay were conducted by telehealth and acknowledged Lindsay experienced significant deterioration, medication side effects, insomnia, anxiety, depression and other concerning symptoms during treatment. None of this establishes malpractice or proves what Lindsay’s mental state was on January 24, 2023. But in a case centered on whether severe postpartum mental illness was recognized and adequately treated, this cross-examination matters.
