It measured benzene at several times the FDA's limit, forming at body temperature, at 50°C and at hot-car temperatures. That's the heat a product sees on a shelf, in a car, or on warm skin. The FDA disputes how much actually forms — its own testing found lower levels — and CeraVe's maker is now fighting class-action lawsuits over it in court.
