I’m a nurse. We give this to all our postpartum patients before they are discharged from the hospital. Anything above a 10 is flagged and an automatic social work consult is needed. That is crazy! Lindsey was failed!

im a post partum rn. we give the Edinburgh test at discharge from the hospital at birth. of they score more than 10, we notify the MD. Then the OB follows up at that point. But our medical record is not followed up with a psychiatrist at any point. the patient has to disclose that information.

You can tell that this doctor was very new when she treated Lindsey. But the thing that made me angry is that she offered services in postpartum depression but never read or trained in any training or research beyond what she learned while a student?!

The PHQ 9 is a generic depression screening tool. The Edinburgh screening tool is specific to depression in post partum. It is the standard. This is a failure of Dr Tuft.
