100% of corporate “urgency” is manufactured or the result of someone somewhere’s poor planning. Is someone going to actually physically die if it doesn’t get done till the morning? No? Then it’s not urgent. Is something critical going to expire and become completely unusable? No? Then it’s not urgent.

If it’s 4pm don’t start a new task unless you know 100% you’ll finish it before 5. If it can wait or relies on another pain in any way, do it tomorrow

it depends on the criticality of the work. Before I start anything I figure out how many hours it will take and divide that by how much time I have.

Depends on the team/company. In my experience, unless you're interested in climbing the corporate ladder to become an executive, don't burn yourself out. You won't be rewarded for it.

can it be done in 10-15 minutes and you're in a good flow? keep working. if it'll take more than 20 minutes to finish and is easy to restart, it can wait.
