Look into a bed extender kit it may not give you the same amount of room as two beds put together but it would be better than just a twin size mattress.

Crazy how much barracks rooms vary. Seen some that are like apartments and I’ve seen some that are basically hospitals

When you first move in to those barracks you are told you’ll most likely get a room mate. Why touch the other stuff in the first place? Then complain about moving things back when you are only signed for half the room.
