@playbook.hq: An NBA players only performance center just opened up in Los Angeles — and it’s pretty stacked. So it’s ran by PLYRS UNTD - the commercial & fan-facing brand of the NBPA. The buildout came with inputs from Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, Chet, and NBPA president Fred VanVleet. With a lot of seed planting over the years from Andre Igoudala. And it’s actually the Clippers old training space before intuit dome. The center features two full-size basketball courts, a weight room, treatment room, a bunch of recovery modalities — and an onsite nutrition bar. Now players have a spot out west to pull up to whenever they want with everything they need. But the bigger picture here. Player empowerment used to mean bigger contracts and more say over trades.
