Dear, I think you need to explore more facts about Ethio-Eritrea relationship and conflict, its process and the out come before you share. Eritrea didn't won the war, whole Ethiopians of the time won the war. Because the war wasn't basically of independence at the beginning, it was of dictator regime change. Later, Ethiopian adversaries, CIA( because of Cold war ideology difference with the governing regime) diverted and framed the fight against the government into the concept of independence. That is what was fact.

In my opinion, Eritrea was one of the most developed regions of Ethiopia after the Italians left. The war weakened Ethiopia because it hit the country's strongest pillars—its Red Sea access, a powerful navy, industries, ports, and other strategic assets. A country that had the potential to remain one of the strongest in Africa was instead fragmented, largely because politicians wanted power. Ethiopia was supposed to be one country, made up of regions such as Eritrea, Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Somali, and the others. Instead of staying united, the country was divided. I don't think that separation truly benefited either side in the long run, although, in some ways, it may have made Eritrea suffer more. That's why I don't see it as just an "independence" war. I see it as a war that broke apart a country and significantly reduced its strength and influence. I hope they will united, but if not wish both to become developed(Eritrea to become democratic and support their people) 🇪🇷 🇪🇹🥰
